All these things I’ve seen
Have left me broken,
And somewhere between
A thought and words yet unspoken.

If I am a thought,
I wish to belong to you.

The loved and the used.

If I am the loved
I wish it to be by you
Held in your arms, never again to be shoved
Held tightly by every kind thing you do

If I am used
I want you to use me
I want to feel abused
Through cold tears it’s you I see

All these things I’ve seen
Have left me ashamed

The innocent and blamed

If I am the innocent
Who’s never harmed anyone
I want you to change it
To hand me the gun

If I am blamed
I want you to point the fingers,
Watch me as I go down in flames
As all the guilt lingers

All these things I’ve seen
Have left me torn
And somewhere between
The hurt and scorned

If I am hurt
I want you to hurt me
I want to be face down in the dirt
Unable to see

If I am scorned
I want you to cause it
I want to be a hate yet unborn
A fire burning until all is lit
